Last night Carl Persak delivered his technical paper, "Engineering a Modern Superyacht" to a joint meeting of the Society of Port Engineers and the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
Persak’s technical paper covered the complexities of engineering a Superyacht, and the myriad of specialized disciplines necessary for the project’s success.
He addressed the various engineering disciplines involved, the particular challenges each faces, the tools and methods for addresses those challenges, and how their efforts are successfully integrated. Persak included a case study from his experience serving as project engineer on the 85 meter Cakewalk, launched in 2010. The presentation was well received by the group and provoked spirited 40 minute question and answer and discussion period.
